The tournament was extremely well run, and I would highly recommend any student, inexperienced or experienced, to attend in the future. It was over by 430pm, the judging was extremely fair, and the hosting Master kept things rolling.

Howard got the joy of being introduced to competition olympic sparring by fighting up a division. I enjoyed watching his opponent actually having to fight, rather than play with his competitors, as he's had to in the past. Howie gave him an excellent fight, and had a successful tourney with two 1st placers and one 2cd placer.

Tonya reached the point of tears (of joy) when she realised that not only did she compete in her first forms tournament without freezing, but 1 out of 3 judges voted for her, making it extremely close. She thanked that judge later, and he told her that it was a very difficult decision for all of them. She did a great job :)

Joey had his best event in olympic sparring. He won his first match very well. Although he lost the final fight for 1st place, I was extremely proud of him for sticking in there and not quitting out of fear after his extremely aggressive opponent kicked him in the face multiple times (illegal in junior safety rules). Even the judges were impressed, and they can be tough to impress!
